¿Existe la presión realmente en el deporte? P=F/A

La pregunta del título parece obvia, pero al pensar bien y reflexionar podemos encontrar muchas respuestas.

Al fin y al cabo, casi todo lo que experimentamos es subjetivo.

Cada persona es diferente.

Cada deportista es diferente.

Hay deportistas que dicen que no existe la presión, otros la sufren cada día y algunos dicen que la presión es un privilegio.

Al final, la performance es una revelación de la persona que se esconde detrás de ese traje competitivo.

Por eso, es importante hacer algunas distinciones sobre la presión.

Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, podemos decir que la presión existe en la medida de que el deportista la sienta, sino no existe.

¿O acaso se puede ver o tocar?

Es una experiencia subjetiva.

Si se siente, hay presión.

Si no se siente, no hay presión.

Ahora veamos estas dos historias de fútbol.

1) Ronaldo. 1998. Final del Mundial de Francia 1998

La noche anterior a la final contra Francia, el talentoso jugador brasileño sufrió convulsiones y tuvo que ser hospitalizado. Sus estudios neurológicos fueron positivos por lo que, en una decisión polémica, el jugador estuvo presente en la final.

Ronaldo fue un fantasma, no pudo desplegar su talento y Brasil perdió 3 a 0.

Muchos años después dijo: «Lo único que puedo relacionar con una convulsión el día de la final de la Copa del Mundo es realmente este estrés, un estrés muy alto, bajo presión y sin ningún tipo de preparación»

Y ahora veamos la siguiente historia:

2) Pirlo. 2006. Final del Mundial de Alemania 2006

Este jugador italiano tenía por la tarde una final contra Francia. Decidió ir a su habitación a jugar a los videojuegos.

Declaró: «Nunca sentí la presión de jugar al fútbol. Una mañana me levanté para jugar a la Play, y a la tarde estaba ganando la Copa del Mundo con Italia».

Entonces, ante un mismo estímulo o contexto (final del Mundial), hay una respuesta diferente.

Una resupuesta sumamente contradictoria.

De convulsiones a jugar a la play.

¿Existe la presión en el deporte?

Si le preguntamos a Ronaldo dirá una cosa, Pirlo dirá otra.

Entonces:

No es lo mismo que haya presión a sentirse presionado.

Si un jugador no siente presión, la presión no existe.

Si un jugador siente presión, y quiere manejarla de mejor manera, deberá aprender a hacerlo.

Pero cómo se puede entender que es la presión para empezar a trabajar su gestión en una instancia competitiva.

En mi opinión, la manera más fácil es recurrir a la fórmula de la Presión.

P=F/A

Presión= Fuerza aplicada sobre un Área

Esto lo aprendí en la clase de física cuando era adolescente, pero es ahora cuando lo entiendo perfectamente.

La presión se compone de 2 cosas: fuerza y área.

Entonces, entendiendo a manipular esas variables, podés influir en la presión.

Una fuerza aplicada sobre un área.

Mayor área, menos presión.

Menor fuerza. menos presión.

Te voy a poner un ejemplo y vamos a hacer las cuentas juntos.

¿Cuál es la fuerza?

Podría ser cualquier estímulo externo que se aplica sobre un deportista y que puede influenciar cómo se siente.

O sea, el grito del público podría ser una FUERZA (o más bien el ruido mental que sienta el deportista con respecto al bullicio)

Y la confianza del deportista, un ÁREA (o cualquier aspecto que te haga sentir más grande)

Ejemplo:

El grito del público aplicado sobre la confianza del deportista puede dar como resultado cuanta presión siente el deportisa.

Bien.

Si sabes matemáticas como yo, deducirás que reduciendo la fuerza o aumentando el área, la presión disminuirá.

Supongamos que el ruido que siente el deportista representa una fuerza de 8, y su confianza está en un 2.

8/2=4.

Presión nivel 4.

Si el deportista logra silenciar un poco en su mente el ruido de la tribuna se puede bajar a un 6.

6/2=3

Ya baja la presión.

Lo mismo si aumenta un poquito su confianza de 2 a 3.

6/3=2

Presión nivel 2.

¿Lo ves?

Es muy simple.

Y te mostré un ejemplo con una confianza destruida.

Los mejores del mundo aplicarían esta cuenta:

8/8=1

Ahora ya sabes la fórmula, solo te queda ponerte a trabajar.

¿Cómo?

1) Reduciendo los estímulos que el entorno puede presentar bajo el modo de «presión» (esto va a cambiar para cada persona)

2) Aumentar los recursos propios para hacer frente a esas fuerzas que vienen del entorno.
